Canvas to JPEG, border elements containing images get pixelized

Apr 27, 2010 at 12:59 PM

Hi folks, great library!

I'm using the extension in ImageTools to do .ToImage on a canvas, which I then save to a jpeg image in 600x600.

The canvas contains a bunch of Border elements, which each contain images. However, when I get the rasterized bitmap form the canvas, the borders are very pixelized.

Is this a know issue? What can I do to get rid of it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I think, that this is an silverlight problem, but you can send me a screenshot or an example project to have a look.

I am sorry to say, that this is normal. My recommendation is to use a
scaletransform, like described in this thread:
http://imagetools.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=207902

And then create an image with a higher resolution (you can also increase
the dpi when you want to print the image, but the implementation is not
ready yet.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I did as you said, and the quality is still less than OK. But I'll be working on a serverside implementation for this part instead.

That'll fix it, right?
